WHAT IS THE LINK BETWEEN UTI AND BV?

Urinary tract and vaginal infections (like bacterial vaginosis, or BV) often come together, due to the proximity of the two channels.

Although caused by different bacteria, indeed, BV can disrupt the normal vaginal flora, making the urinary tract more susceptible to infection, and recent studies even suggest that BV-causing bacteria can directly trigger bacteria already hiding in the bladder to cause UTI.

Therefore, it is usually recommended to associate non-aggressive treatments to counteract bacterial vaginosis with products able to prevent the insurgence of UTI, and particularly appreciated has been recently the In&Out approach.

What is the In&Out approach?

A synergistic approach that integrates the benefits of both oral and topical applications to counteract a specific (or more) diseases, providing more comprehensive and longer-lasting results.

That’s why Alma developed a complete range of IN&OUT products for the well-being and health of the gynecological area, including a medical device for topical application to regulate pH and prevent BV, as well as a food supplement to counteract urinary tract infections:

  • Gyno-Balance is a non-hormonal medical device enriched with prebiotics, especially formulated to regulate vaginal pH and restore the balance of its flora. Already MDR certified, it prevents relapses of bacterial vaginosis and mycosis, being particular useful to prevent the insurgence of infections by providing a hostile (acidic) environment for pathogenic bacteria. Its efficacy is assessed through a clinical test in just 7 days
  • Uti-Solve is a food supplement based on D-mannose, cranberry  (titrated in 10% proanthocyanidins), uva ursi and ononis extracts to enhance the correct functioning and well-being of the urinary tract, preventing the insurgence of UTI. Indeed, it works by blocking the adhesion of uropathogenic bacteria to the mucosa to prevent their proliferation, while increasing urine flow, therefore fostering their elimination.
